The IEEE VIS 2014 Arts Program, or VISAP'14, showcases high-quality artwork and research that explores the exciting and increasingly prominent intersections between art and visualization. Through a dedicated papers track and an art show that runs concurrently with the IEEE 2014 VIS conference, the Arts Program aims to foster new thinking, discussion, and collaboration between artists, designers, technologists, visualization scientists, and others working at the intersection of these fields.
VISAP'14 will take place from November 9th through the 14th at the Marriott Rive-Gauche during IEEE VIS 2014. The two main VISAP'14 papers sessions will both take place on Wednesday morning, November 12th. Session 1 runs from 8:30am to 10:10am. Session 2 runs from 10:30am to 12:10pm. Both of these sessions will be held in the conference center's Auditorium. The VISAP'14 Art Show exhibition will be open for the entire conference, and an opening event will take place on Wednesday evening at 6pm in Forums G, H, I, and J. Click here for the schedule.
Both the artworks and the papers were selected through a rigorous peer review process in which submissions were evaluated on both quality and relevance to the IEEE VIS community by a program committee made up of experts in visualization and media arts. The acceptance rate for artworks was 24.52% and the acceptance rate for papers was 40%.
