Dear Data Studio

On Thursday afternoon, VISKids and VISAP jointly present a special event with the VIS capstone speaker Giorgia Lupi, an award winning information designer who co-founded and is design director of the data-driven design firm Accurat. She is co-author of Dear Data, an inspirational hand-drawn data visualization book.

Giorgia brings the spirit of this book to IEEE VIS in a live participatory visualization session. She will guide participants through the process of manually visualizing data through drawing, following the visual language of different abstract paintings. The Dear Data Studio event will take place on Thursday, October 5th at 4:15pm-5:55pm in Room 103-A of the Phoenix Conference Center.

(Interactive and print works by Giorgia Lupi and Accurat Design will also be featured at Sustain & Decay, the VISAP’17 Exhibition.)
